STILLWATER — YOUR SUPPLIED SOUNDS

Everything needed for the ambient course is in this folder. Use Ableton Live 12, its stock Drift instrument and effects, and your normal listening setup. No recording equipment or extra sample downloads are needed.

1. Save your current work, create a new Live set, and save it as Stillwater.
2. Set 60 BPM and 4/4. Create three audio tracks: Nature, Birds, Bowls. Create one MIDI track: Drone.
3. Drag Stream - Ksd5.wav onto Nature. It is a 30-second real flowing-water recording. Turn Warp off and leave Transpose at 0.
4. Drag Bird singing - jc.wav onto Birds. It contains about a minute of real birdsong. Turn Warp off and select a few complete phrases during the course.
5. Drag D bowl - BambooBeast.wav onto Bowls. It is a real struck singing bowl, about 13 seconds long and gently tuned toward D. Turn Warp off and leave Transpose at 0. Keep its full tail.
6. Load Drift on Drone, choose a soft sound, and drag Songpath-drone-8bars.mid onto that track. The supplied notes hold D2 and A2 (MIDI 50 and 57) for seven bars inside an eight-bar clip. Set a slow attack and release as taught in the guide. Keep the set at 60 BPM.
7. Follow Ambient & nature in Songpath for placement, crossfades, tone, reverb, the full arrangement, and export. The pack is raw material; arrange the piece yourself.

Use File > Collect All and Save after importing so the Live project keeps its own sample copies. Keep CREDITS.txt with the project when sharing it. Audio source credits and preparation details are included in that file.

All files also live inside Songpath.app. The Open sample folder button makes an accessible copy automatically on any Mac that runs the app. The Share sample pack button reveals a ZIP you can send along with the tutorial.
